Beauty Adventures: What’s the deal with a Chemical Peel?

If you’re going to spend money on one beauty treatment, make it your face. With so many options including injections and facials on the market these days, how on earth does a woman make a choice? First and foremost find a clinic you can trust preferably via word of mouth. Once you’ve gotten some positive feedback from a friend or blogger (hint hint), go ahead and book a consultation. Go prepared to ask lots of questions. When you are ready to book s procedure you will be at ease with your skincare expert. For me, that skincare expert is Rita Moldovanos of Pure Light Laser. As a busy blogger, media personality, adventurer and Mom, I find that I don’t have much time to spend on myself. I’ll be the first to admit that when I came to Rita my skin was looking tired and neglected. With not much of a beauty maintenance program, I looked to her for advice. She recommended a chemical peel followed by microdermabrasion, a quick double... ...

Out of the kitchen and into the outdoors with Vital Supply Co!

Fall is the perfect time to reconnect with your health plan. A chance to recharge your batteries and find new healthy lifestyle solutions that will enable you more time to nourish from the inside out. Time is money and life is hectic which means the first thing to suffer when we are busy and running on empty is our nutrition. We know the right nutritional choices but precious time and money to spend on shopping, cooking and prepping healthy meals can be tricky with busy schedules. In my personal opinion, my time-off is valuable and should be spent chasing adventures and playing outdoors, not in the kitchen. Lo and behold, I recently discovered that Vital Supply Co, a Vancouver based meal preparation company offers affordable, convenient, healthy options for adventure guys and gals on the go.  Bottom line, that means more mountain and trail time. Hallelujah! I just finished the 10 Days of Vital trial (2 meals a day) and loved it. Opting for food pick-ups from The Juicery in Edgemont Village,... ...

We are proud to continue our support of the Hastings Community Little League,” said PNE President and CEO Mike McDaniel. “We are thrilled to have Hastings Little League bring the National Tournament to Vancouver this summer and can’t wait to see the kids out on the field!” The past four Community Days were extremely successful, and this year, Playland is looking to hit over $100,000 raised for this worthy non-profit sports organization. Christmas Adventures: Canyon Lights at Capilano Suspension Bridge

Thrill seekers looking for something to do this Christmas – Canyon Lights at Capilano Suspension Bridge is the place for you. Nothing tops this combination of adventure and Christmas all wrapped up in one special holiday package. I thought I just had to walk across the suspension bridge to look at the lights but no, there was more.  The treetop adventure and the cliff walk had my adrenaline pumping from the get go.  I loved the excitement of the bridge swaying over the canyon. My friends, not so much but that is all part of the Canyon Lights ‘experience’.  As little kids passed us completely unfazed by anything, we held on to the railing for dear life. Quite the epic outdoor sight, testing your boundaries at night, surrrounded by the glowing festive cliff face is a must do Christmas adventure in Vancouver. Once we safely made it across the bridge, the beauty of the sparkling tree lights and trails became the main attraction. The reflection of the lights on the water was one of the... ...

MAINSTREAM- LAST FIRST EVENT REVIEW

Mahony & Sons presents Mainstream- Last First Rowing the Northwest Passage EVENT REVIEW Can global warming, Gortex, and the GPS be thanked for the much improved success rate of present day explorers? Circa 1845 Captain Sir John Franklin only needed wool gloves, 5o pounds of chocolate and a ship to embark on his doomed arctic expedition to the Northwest Passage.  Thanks to modern day gear, corporate funding and role models like the four men from MAINSTREAM Last First, today’s explorers have higher hopes for success. Packing a full house at Centennial Theatre, the Vancouver area audience shared in the adventures, tales and video footage from what could have been another ill-fated journey through arctic waters.  Hosted by team members Paul Gleeson, Kevin Vallely and Denis Barnett (Frank Wolf was absent), the audience savoured a taste of their icy mission first hand. Fifty grand in and already mentally invested, they mapped out a plan to conquer the Northwest Passage by rowboat, knowing they may never come home alive.  After almost sixty sponsorship... ...
